DirecTV quietly updates iPad app, HR34 DVR

DIRECTV updates iPad app, HR34 DVR with tktkt

DirecTV has quietly updated both its iPad app and HR34 DVR with a variety of new features for Satellite-loving customers. The application will now resume from where you left off, comes with a much improved search function and best of all, a direct line into the company's support forums. Meanwhile, the HR34 swallowed a software package that included Pandora, a YouTube landing page and more readable closed captions amongst a raft of other nips and tucks. The former will be available through the app store, while the latter should have arrived on your box overnight, well before you start on that CSI marathon.

  1. I think that a lot can be said about a company that releases a huge update to multiple platforms like DirecTV did. They just wanted to get it all done at once. The Pandora app is a great addition; I have been using it on my Hopper since April when Dish released it along with doubling the recording time on the Hipper to 500 hours of HD shows. While I listen to Pandora though, I am recording shows still because I have 60% storage space than the HR34 for personal use on my hopper; that’s right 500 hours of HD recording time. There are some days that I get back after my shift at Dish, and I stare at the list of shows for a minute just to know how cool it is to have that many
